1966 Mosrite Sunburst Ventures Bass For Repair/Parts

Up for sale today is an all-original 1966 Mosrite Ventures Bass in a classic Sunburst finish. Serial number on the neck reads # 6704. Quintessential British-invasion and/or country rock icon instrument that helped shape the sound of the 1960's. This "Ventures Model" features an unbound, German-carve body design, Mosrite "duckfeet" tuners, bolt-on neck and two Mosrite-design pickups that are fat and articulate. Nicely aged finish this a soft patina, plenty of cracking and dings/dents throughout the body. This bass is being sold as-is/for parts because the neck is severely warped with warn frets with not a lot of hope for fixing; it could be set up to play, but with very high action and quirky feel. Looking down the neck you can see a pronounced back bow around the third and fourth frets as well as a significant sideways bow. Both pickups are functioning with thick and vintage punch; tone/volume pots work well but the selector switch works with some irregularity. The right buyer will appreciate this gorgeous vintage piece for what it is that could one day prove to be a wonderful project/player with a second life!
