1970's Sunn Coliseum Bass Vintage Amplifier Head Solid State 300 Watt USA Made

Up for sale, a 1970's Sunn Coliseum Bass vintage solid state head in perfect working order. Made in the USA and one of the first high powered solid state bass amplifiers ever conceived, the Coliseum Bass delivers a whopping 300 watts of pure, round, clear tone from a company with a reputation for hi-fi clarity and nuance in their circuits. While the Coliseum line of heads was a fairly vast and fruitful venture for the Sunn company, this Coliseum Bass is notable for being one of the first Coliseum circuits designed and produced while the company founders, the Sundholm brothers, were still heavily involved with Sunn products (they would leave by '72).
The design of the head is simple and intuitive, with a single channel, two inputs, Volume, and four EQ knobs. An additional bright switch, and tone switches that shift the range of the Treble and Mid knobs add further versatility to the head, while still keeping the layout clean. All settings are usable and powerful, with great range from the EQ controls and a lively, rich character to the tone that modern solid state circuits simply can't match.
Cosmetically, this amp shows some modest wear on the rough black tolex, original chrome corners, and stock witch hat knobs, but much more importantly, this is an extremely reliable and recently serviced vintage Sunn head that works exactly as it should!
