1975 Cibson MK-35 Acoustic Guitar

 

   Here is an original Cibson Mark guitar. This is the 35 model and was made in 1975. This guitar has had much work done. A new, x-braced, top has been fitted. The top was refinished with the original bridge reinstalled. The back of the neck was refinished as well. The last 5 frets over the fingerboard extension have been replaced. The action is currently a hair under 4/32" and plays nicely. The saddle has enough meat left on it to come down even more if preferred. The luthier who removed the original top did leave some scratches and digs on the side. This is most notably on the treble side near the upper binding. There is one crack on the back near the neck joint and the top has a couple of light scratches. After refinishing the top the faux wood rosette was not glued back in place. I feel as though they get in the way so it was slipped back under the fingerboard extension, but not permanently fixed in place, so the new owner will have the choice of removing it or letting it be. This guitar is not in bad shape considering the age. The recent work done to it makes it appear to be a much newer model. When I got the guitar it did not have an original truss rod cover. I do have a very nice non-original HSC that will come with it. Currently it is set-up with light gauge strings.
