Hello. Up for sale is a nice  Hondo II Professional Series Precision bass made circa 1981 in Japan by Tokai.

This bass is from a short lived series of instruments that Hondo had made by Tokai in the early 1980s in Japan. They were only made for a year or two and then production shifted to Korea. Now heading towards vintage status as they are 35 years old and fairly scarce. Hondo made good Strats and Teles as well in this series.

The quality of these basses is very high. If you ask me they are higher quality than the very late 1970s Fenders. The feel of these basses is more like the 75-76 period for Fender. These are nothing like the Korean made Hondos!

Overall condition is good to very good. There are plenty of nicks and dings and small scratches. some of the hardware has tarnished. The neck is straight and the bass plays very well. The sound is good too. 

This bass is on the lightweight side for a P. I have 3 of these and this is the lightest one.

The neck is a C neck and has the wide nut as a big feel. The truss rod adjusts at the bottom by the heel. It has the stamped numbers on there like other Tokai made stuff.

This bass includes a hardshell case.
