1986 Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter Vintage Guitar Effect Pedal Black Label Japan

Up for sale, a 1986 Boss FT-2 Dynamic Filter in excellent condition and in perfect working order. This vintage "black label" Boss pedal was only produced for a few short years and was manufactured in Japan, home of the Boss brand and their earliest, most sought after models. This pedal has a unique filtered tone that is indelibly linked to Funk, and the actual effect that this pedal produces falls somewhere in the category of envelope filter, envelope follower, touch wah, auto wah, dynamic filter, etc. Regardless of what you call it, the tone is very lush and musical, and the FT-2 is one of the most unique and oft overlooked early Boss circuits!
The FT-2 has four knobs: Sens, Cutoff Freq, Q and a Mode selector with three different steps/modes. The Sens button sets the sensitivity, or how hard you have to play to trigger the effect. The Cutoff Freq knob sets the frequency to be used for the wah effect, and the Q knob determines the width of the frequency range. The 3-way selector can be set to Up, Down or Exp/Manual. Up and Down options are pretty much self-explanatory and use the Exp/Manual in conjunction with an external expression pedal for manual control of the filter.

Cosmetically, the enclosure shows only a few small nicks around the edges, and the original label is quite clean on the back of the pedal. All of the original knobs are present, and the small serial number label that dates the pedal is still present in the battery compartment.
