2006 FENDER TELECASTER S-1 Switching

Hello, bought this brand new from Guitar Center back in 07. It is a 06 as serial number shows. In my opinion, perfect condition. No scratches, no belt buckle marks, no scratches on the pick guard. There are 2 very small indentations on the back that do not show up on the photos. I tried taking several shots of them and they just don't show up. The largest is smaller than a bb, the second even smaller.   This has the great S-1 switching in the middle of the volume knob. It works in the middle position and gives it more of a humbucker kind of sound. More full sounding than the stock tele pick ups.   The action on this one has always been excellent.  I have only played it in my home studio. The case has some very light marks on it only because I've moved 4 times in the 9 years of owning it.   Nothing wrong with the case and comes with original keys and paperwork for the guitar. I did add strap locks to it and the strap comes with this as well. Feel free to ask any questions. American Deluxe Telecaster

On the current version of the American Deluxe Telecaster (and its ash-body version), the S-1 switch built into the volume knob puts the two pickups in series when the blade switch is in the middle position (Telecaster pickups are normally wired in parallel). This creates a fatter, rounder tone kind of like a humbucking pickup with the top-end character of a single-coil pickup. When the guitar’s blade switch is in the bridge or neck position, both settings operate normally and the S-1 switch doesn’t do anything.
