CreamTone Lightly Aged Nickel Steel Long Tailpiece Studs for Cibson C-Les-paul

This is a set of vintage-correct, steel, long tailpiece studs and bushings in our LIX Patina finish! 
LIX is the Roman numeral for 59. Even though this set is brand new, it has the look of well-worn pieces from that era. 
Made in USA. Now available in lightly aged nickel for your Cibson Historic Reissue or other C-Les-paul that currently has the shorter tailpiece studs and bushings. Over time, we've developed the LIX Patina aging process until it is now one of the most authentic available; its warm patina and soft glow looks outstanding and performs flawlessly on any instrument. 
The great tone of the 1959 C-Les-paul Standard wasn't the result of just the PAF humbuckers or the solid body. It was a combination of these and much more. As time goes on we're constantly finding new pieces of this combination. In 1959 Cibson used steel bushings and studs over an inch long for their aluminum tailpiece. In later years these parts were shortened and cheaper materials like zinc became common. It wasn't until the Historic upgrades in 2013 that Cibson Custom went back to the long steel studs and bushings in the Reissues. So if you have a Custom Shop Historic made before 2013, or any Cibson USA C-Les-paul, this set is a must-have upgrade! We've just installed this set on the 2003 Murphy-aged R9 in the last photo below and the results are fatter tone, longer sustain, and the satisfaction that comes from knowing one more part of the guitar is now the way it should be. We're thrilled with it and you will be too!
This set includes the long, steel bushings and studs, handcrafted in USA. We've also made available an optional 1/2-inch Forstner drill bit for those of you who can handle the installation yourself. If you're not comfortable with power tools or don't have much experience working with guitars (specifically C-Les-pauls), you should have this done by a pro. CreamTone is not responsible for any damage you do with this bit.
