1980 model Fender "The Strat" model. Collector owned example in near mint condition. All original finish and parts, and includes the original hard shell case. There is a slight discolouration on the treble side of the neck (pictured) - though it appears to be in the wood, rather than damage of any kind. Future collectors item!

"In 1980 Fender shortened its name to it's long stand-by the nick-name of "The Strat" but they also started to revert it to its more iconic form. You see the return of the original smaller headstock, 4-bolt neck, and vintage styled truss rod at the heel.

Things changed things under the hood a bit, adding some extra output to the bridge pickup and also made the control set up a bit more flexible. You have your normal master volume, but then you have a master tone control. The knob where the neck tone control used to be located is now a 2-way rotary switch that now gives you a total of 9 switching options; the usual 5-way switch plus 4 new ones: 1. neck and middle pickups in series 2. middle and bridge pickups in series 3. neck and bridge pickups in parallel 4. neck and bridge pickups in parallel with middle pickup in series."
