Shaw’s expertise dates far back to his work with the first and biggest names in the history of humbucking pickup design, and the result of his efforts—the “Shawbucker” humbucking pickup—is an electrifying new landmark in Fender pickup design.

Shawbucker™ Bridge Pickup
The Shawbucker open-coil humbucking pickup delivers unprecedented tonal dimension, with more overtones, snarling mids and balance. It's paired with single-coil pickups in the middle and neck positions for desirable Strat sparkle and plenty of vintage warmth.

N3 Noiseless™ Pickups
With state-of-the-art design and powerful sound, N3 Noiseless pickups supercharge your sound by delivering the pure dynamic range and response of vintage Fender single-coil pickups with virtually no hum.

S-1™ Switch
For even more tonal versatility, pushbutton S-1 switching presents special pickup and wiring modifications. On this instrument, the S-1 switch is built into the master volume control knob and delivers different combinations including all three pickups at once, parallel/in-series options and out-of phase sounds.

Passing Lane Switch
The American Deluxe Stratocaster HSS features a “Passing Lane” pushbutton switch. When engaged in all pickup switch positions, it unleashes the full sound of the bridge pickup, bypassing everything else—including the volume and tone control knobs—for pure, raw humbucking sound great for soloing.

LSR Roller Nut
With the strings riding over ball bearings instead of seated in a pre-cut slot susceptible to friction binding and other possible adjustment/repair issues, an LSR roller nut is a high-performance feature that quite literally eliminates friction at the nut for improved tuning stability.

Locking Tuners
A convenient high-end, high-performance feature, locking tuners offer increased tuning stability, especially on tremolo-equipped guitars, and they make changing strings substantially faster and easier than conventional tuners.
