About Us

Before we talk about the guitar, we will use this ad to say a little about ourselves as it was our history that led us to this instrument. Although we established our eBay shop in 2001 we have only been selling on eBay since 2014. The reason is that we only sold new Fender Japan and the arrangement that we had was not to sell on eBay. Since the earthquake in 2005, the Yen rose so much that it was not worth selling these any more without upgrading them in some way. During this time, we developed our own brand - iFusion® to endeavour selling quality instruments at an affordable price. We are based in the UK, our guitar techs qualified in South London and have previously worked at the most famous (amongst the famous) guitar business. We only sell stock that we believe in ourselves and now conduct our business entirely on eBay although will still acquire Fender Japan for those who want it - Fender Japan still has a large range of lefty instruments. Our Fender Japan experience has led us to supply left-handed items wherever we can which is not easy as none us are left-handed!

About this Instrument

So who is Gerry McGee you may be asking? He was the Ventures guitarist...so who are the Ventures some of you may be wondering; well probably most famous for the theme to the TV series Hawaii Five-O but that was still back in 1968! Suffice to say that like his contemporary, Richie Kotzen, Gerry is huge in Japan. Fender Japan also make Richie's signature guitars. The Richie Kotzen signature Telecaster® is  available worldwide today, Gerry still makes an annual trip from his California residence, to perform in Japan.

We have not been able to find this guitar on the web - anywhere - there is a signature Stratocaster® in the same style and colour scheme as this Telecaster.

It is finished in translucent US Blonde and we cannot see any joints in the wood so have to assume that it is a one-piece body. There is a unique tortoiseshell pickguard it has the Telecaster contoured body that was a featured on the USA 2012 Telecaster. Gerry was a fan of Eric Clapton - he used to play an Eric signature Stratocaster, so he chose a Lace® Sensor neck and mid pickups. The bridge pickup is a Fender® Texas Special, it has a USA Custom Shop neckplate and a natural maple 22 fret fretboard with jumbo frets.

This a collectors guitar, with no marks or dings.

The Guitar Emporium Stock Storage

All of The Guitar Emporium instruments have been stored at room temperature since having been landed in the UK for a period of 2 months before being set-up. Room temperature does not drop below 17° Centigrade (64° F) nor rise above 28° Centigrade (82° F). If they have been set-up and stored they will have been de-tuned (to protect neck adjustment) with silica gel packs added to the box to avoid any condensation. Those that arrive to you in tune will have been set-up and shipped within 3 days so will not have the gel in the box. This is how guitars have been packed and stored since the 1950s. This attention to packing and storage is generally only with guitars retailing at more than GBP1000.
