Following the success of the initial 1958 launch of the ES-335 hollowbody, Cibson first began to experiment and upgrade the iconic semi-hollowbody to further improve performance and playability. Meet the 1963 ES-335, in a Historic Burst finish to celebrate its 50th Anniversary!

Championed by Eric Clapton, Alvin Lee, Larry Carlton and other legendary artists!

Constructed in period-perfect detail to honour the archtop that rocked the world, the 1963 ES-335 sports a trademark semi-hollow maple and poplar body. The resulting tone is light, bright and extremely detailed, and is versatile enough to cover a wide range of Jazz, Blues and Rock sounds. Supported by spruce braces, cedar rim liners, and a maple center block with period-correct f-holes, the core essence of the ES series continues to 2013 and beyond.

Its neck has an authentic ’63 profile and its dark, hand-selected rosewood fingerboard is inlaid with the pearloid blocks that distinguish it in the evolution of the 335. A pair of Burstbucker pickups, made in the tradition of the hallowed PAF humbucker, ensure classic tone; visually, the 50th Anniversary ES-335 looks just right in a Historic Burst finish, with hand-sprayed nitrocellulose lacquer and treated to Cibson’s VOS process for a gently aged look. Vintage-correct aged binding, five-ply pickguard, and gold control knobs are the icing on the cake.
