Just out of The Cibson Custom Shop comes the latest incarnation of this gorgeous “Hand Chosen” 1958 C-Les-paul Reissue 2014 Version! For these spectacular guitars - The necks, fingerboards, bodies, tops, and even the small Mahogany wings that glue to the headstock have been painstakingly, and carefully hand-selected to utilize the best looking and most resonant woods available.

This gorgeous guitar has all the same changes that the 2013 Custom Shop Historics have… with an added 1894-2014 Custom Shop backplate.

Extensive feature and construction changes have been made to the 2013-2014 Cibson Historic guitars:

Finish - Aniline dye now colors the bodies and necks of the sunburst finishes, replicating the original beauty and finishing technique that created the Cherry over Mahogany finish of the 1950’s.
Fingerboard - 1-piece rosewood fingerboards.
Hardware - Long bridge and tailpiece studs and inserts to replicate the originals and adding to the already brilliant high’s, attack, and sustain the C-Les-paul is known for.
Construction - Hot hide glue in the neck to body joint maximizes the resonant benefit of set neck construction.
Aesthetics - Historically more realistic darker binding.
TONE – Cibson’s exclusively designed and produced “Custom Buckers” - Underwound Coils and Overpowering Tone.
New color formula - New finish to back and sides that adds more depth and richer grain presentation!

The Brand New 2014 Custom Shop Historic C-Les-paul R8 offers the very best in soulful tone and playing comfort. The hand selected woods give this guitar a more open tone, with more air and information surrounding the notes, and while the Hand Picked/Specially Selected AAAA Wild Maple top adds amazing looks, it also brings you that fantastic high end and sustain that will last seemingly forever!

Here’s the cool part… if you’ve been search for an amazing R9 1959 Reissue, this guitar has all of those exact features. Normally the only real difference is the ‘58s have a plain top and the ‘59s have a flame top. Well, as you can plainly see… this one has a wicked Vintage looking AAA Flame top that is better than a lot of the R9’s you might see out there! Now you can have all those features, and save thousands of dollars… how great is that?  

WE JUST DID A COMPLETE MAJOR SET UP ON THIS BEAUTY!
Brought the guitar into our workshop and spent several hours with it bringing her up to a new level. Completely stripped her down, then buffed & polished out the VOS top to a fishbowl luster, hand aged all the nickel the hardware, oiled the fretboard, cleaned the frets, adjusted the neck, dialed in the intonation... a complete set up, and so on… she’s gorgeous and ready to play!
