Le Patrie / Kamouraska "Etude" classical guitar 1980

 This is something quite unusual.

My classical guitar was made in Quebec, Canada in 1980.

Having spent 24 years at a pawn shop in Brooklyn, NYC, the guitar is near perfect, but for a little wear on the lacquer where the pick guard would have been.

As is evident in the pictures, the guitar's back and sides are made of maple, which gives the guitar a clean, crisp sound, which is matched beautifully by the cedar top, which, despite the colouring, really is one piece.  This guitar have got a gentle, warm sound, perfect for finger picking.

The flight case is from STAGG, and fits the guitar perfectly.

This guitar is hand made, and was made in relatively small numbers. The company later changed name to Le Patrie, and the quality of their instruments took a turn for the worse.
