Perhaps the greatest combination of a quality instrument and a practical companion for fun and sometimes hazardous duty in your guitar life, this Taylor is easily the best playing and best sounding “bottom of the line” guitar I’ve encountered. It has the careful construction for which Taylor is famous, and best of all it has the prestige of the Taylor name at a reasonable price (the current MSRP is $558).

The Taylor 306 is a Grand Concert [312] size dreadnought body style with an X-braced solid Sitka spruce top and layered sapele mahogany back and sides. It has a mahogany neck, a 14/20-fret ebony fingerboard with pearloid dot inlay, and chrome diecast tuners contrasting with the black Lexan peghead veneer. The bridge is ebony with black pins, and there is a subtle laser-etched rosette engraved in its natural satin finish. There are very few cosmetic flaws, dings, or scratches, and no structural issues at all. However, there is a very professional repair of the back of the headstock, and a carefully filled and cleated crack in the top below the bridge.

While it is slightly smaller than the Taylor dreadnoughts, it is also a bit lighter, and tough as nails. The actual dimensions are body length, 19.5”: lower bout width, 15”; with a body depth of 4”—in other words, somewhat larger than a Cibson LGO or a classical guitar, and plenty large enough for most venues and purposes. This Taylor is perfect for performers and situations where fun is as important as credibility and style. With its slightly smaller size and lighter weight, it also is ideal as a quality first instrument, so you can find out if you really want to commit to playing guitar without your having to commit too much cash. The 306GB is a clean, good-looking instrument, topped off of course with the prestigious Taylor name.

Included is a high quality soft case. This one is in very good condition, with heavy-duty zippers, a large pocket, multiple straps and handles, and thick padding throughout. It offers excellent light-weight protection for this excellent Taylor guitar.
