This guitar is like new with the exception of a 2mm bump on the lower edge

of the front of the guitar (see photo)Grand Auditorium, 14-fret, 000-size

single cutaway (Gruhn's Guide) ( Martin list: size J), curly maple back and sides & spruce top, holographic

color-change finish (magenta to gold), thin lightning bolt inlays on ebony

fretboard & bridge wings, abalone rosette, black nut & saddle, gold

The Concept II is about as far from traditional Martin design as they get. As

far as construction goes, Martin leaves behind their usual Mahogany and

Rosewood and ventures into Maple. As far as tones go, Maple will

generally give you a much deeper sound than Mahogany, but not as bassy

as Rosewood... where it excels is in the fact that it's perfect for pickups -

the maple is very hard and reacts quickly - the result is a very responsive

guitar through the pickup. This model is also a little shallower body than

usual, and in keeping with the "stage-oriented" design, this will help reduce

feedback (smaller soundbox = less room for feedback to start). An Ebony

fingerboard helps with the quick and strong feel of the guitar.

The paint job : Martin has gone high-tech with this and used a lacquer

called Chameleon. Chameleon is made form a combination of powdered

Opals and Garnet, resulting in that cool 'color change' paint you see on

showncars. Looking straight at it gives you the purple, but as you tilt it (or

hit it with a spotlight) it turns to pink, green and gold. The paint alone is

about $600 per application.

As far as collectibility goes, it's a very limited number - reportedly 100 or

150 - and each one is signed inside by Chris Martin. It includes an amazing

deluxe hardshell case.
