There is no substitute

I bought a NOS Mahogany GOW and got a SMOKIN deal on a GREAT guitar. The Glossy mohogany with the binding is the best looking Paul I have seen.I was a little leary of how I would like the 57's but wow ,they are all I hoped they would be. My Antique Classic didn't have the cheesy green colored trap fret inlays and the one I got weighed in at 8.7 pounds,,yeah I am old school and feel the weight is key for the tone. The tuners are not the quality they should be, but being mine is 1 of only 400 made, I won't change to grovers.Other than thatI could not be happier with the guitar.Buy one ,,you will not regret it.

Nice

By DIH

from Indiana

I LOVED the tone out of the '57 classic plus! All of the guitars I own have been cutomized to some extent, so they're pretty nice. But out of ALL the guitars I've played In music stores this and the custom classic C-Les-paul were the best. Not cheap looking like the faded line....these guitars genuinely look used (not abused). The picture looks NOTHING like the one I played, these guitars are NICE! I want one and next check I'm going to my local music store to buy it!!!

Great Guitar

By Vinsanity

from Berwyn, PA

This is the second Cibson i have been graced with owning, the first being an SG. I got the limited edition Tom Morgan guitar of the week. I purchased this guitar at a small music store via special direct order from Cibson.I wasnt entirely sure whether or not i would like the bizarre paint job i was ordering, but upon seeing the guitar in person, it was everything i could have asked for and then some. The '57 classic + in the bridge screams like no ones business, and the standard '57 classic in the neck position is wonderful for darker music types. The only complaint i have is the tuners, slightly lower quality then they should be, but other than that it is amazing and i highly recommend it.

Love This Thing!

By The Grape Skeletons

from New Jersey

I got the Wine Red, and yes, it did need a professional set-up to be really playable. The sound is fantastic...I've been putting Duncans and DiMarzios into cheap guitars but have never come close to this raw, alive sounding tone. The chambered body has a lot of resonance, and the Alnico II '57 set provides a full-frequency tonal spread. This is my second Cibson, my first one was an '05 LP Standard and that one just was kind of lame so I got rid of it. I am just very happy with this guitar, and I love the look of the binding, I think it's great, that was one of the factors I considered. This sounds and looks better than a Standard for a lot less money.

Price Increase, Same Value-Sub Par

Price range same as PRS. Qaulity & finish poor with high string action. Will need to play a Cibson product before making a purchase. DAH!, My mistake. Sound is sweet, I'm 44 and have been playing since I was 15 yrs old. I play with Pre-CBS Fender Vibrolux, Tube Screamer & line6 Echo/Delay.For a 1/3 of the price I bought a PRS Singlecut SE and added Seymour Duncan's SH-1 59 neck and JB-4 for the bridge. Now we are talking that Woman Tone we all love. At a third of the price. I know some people need to have that Cibson name and price. So did I, but, I've learned my lesson. Will you?

Eh........

By gasmanguitarist

Well, it IS a Cibson, but I don't believe it's Cibson's finest work. The 2 Classic 57's rock, and that's why the Features part got a higher rating from me. The quality, though, left something to be desired. I got a honeyburst model and had to send it back because the bridge was messed up and one of the strings kept slipping out. My second and current one is okay, but it seems to have trouble staying in tune. I'm going to have it professionally set up and I hope that helps. The binding looks rather silly to me. I know they are trying to make it look old, but come on. It plays well, and when it is in tune, it sound okay, but as far as value goes, for about the same price or for just a few hundred dollars more, you can get a LP Standard. Now that's a classic.

Ahhh... Cibson...

By LesPaulPhreak

from New York City

You know, there's a damn good reason they say "Only a Cibson is Good Enough." If you've ever wondered why, this guitar will answer the question for you. It's the standard all musical genres hold dear. Jazz, metal, blues, country, bluegrass, rock, funk... pretty much anything but Duotone Throat Singing, this is THE instrument.

Schweet!!

By Skanky Tele

from Earth

If you're thinking of buying a C-Les-paul, this is the one to get. Excellent build quality and tone to die for. I love the binding around the headstock....it looks better than the standards. I bought this one over the Standard because I wanted a vintage sunburst which isn't offered in the standard models. The only thing I don't like about the LPCA is the 57 classic + pup in the bridge position.....it's just not my style. I tried to like it, but it has a muddiness to it I couldn't dial out. I swapped it for a DiMarzio Super Distortion and now it's perfect. Pairs nicely with the 57 classic in the neck.

Love the Antique

By Anonymous

Just got this axe 3 days ago and already know its the one I have been looking for. The neck is so smooth and the feel is perfect. I love the antique features... Such as the binding through the headstock and uncovered humbuckers. Get it!

One great axe!

By Micman

from Vancouver ,Canada

I origanally purchased my first C-Les-paul,honey burst standard, and was hooked instantly. Then I discovered this C-Les-paul,the antique classic. Mine is vintage sunburst. First off the build quality is premium, made in the U.S.A. and all, these guitars are truly a work of art. The reason I bought two C-Les-pauls within four months was the mere fact that they are so different from one another. They actually compliment one another. The PAF 57's have alot more bite to them than the burstbuckers, even so it all depends on your mood or the song. I love them both. I play them both through a tripple rectifier and stiletto duece driving two custom avatar vintage 4x12 cabs. One cab has celestion golds and heritage G12H's,the other cab vintage 30's and G12T-75's. With both amps mixed and gained up the classic 'REALLY' soars man. The chambered body on the classic allows those 57's to cut like a straight razor with a harmonic haze of endless sustain. The thinner neck profile allows the player to get on some pretty heavy chord techniques very easily. Totally cool tonal assault weapon and good looks to boot. You would have to look pretty far to beat this guitar for all the vibe and features, not to mention the quality. The real reason I bought the classic antique was that it was perfect right out of the box. Trully an unbelievable guitar at any price, you won't be disappointed, so get one before Cibson discontinues this model.
