What can I say about this bass that you don't already know. If you have opened this auction, you already know that this is the bass to have. The Quantum 5.. Modulus at its finest. Shaller roller bridge. D'Addarrio EXL-170-5 strings, fresh and new set-up by a master luthier. Bartolini Pickups and TBT Electronics, When I got it, there were several nicks and hacks in the back of the neck. I brought it to my luthier who filled and cleaned the back of the neck. Now it is smooth, no nicks or dings and the finish is matte, so it is more tame than before. No Truss of course. This is a 1992 Q5 Custom with Alder body and a 5A Quilt maple top. Everything works exactly the way it should. Knobs are Volume/Pan/Bass/Treble.. There is a 3 position switch which is 250/500/850 Hz mid boost. There is one issue with the bass. There is a break in the body. On the back. By the jack to the rear cover plate (see picture). I had my luthier check it out when he was working on the neck, but it is super stable. So nothing really to do about it. It cannot be seen from the front. Does not affect anything other than looks from the back. There are other sorts of dents and ding's on the body, but for a 24 year old bass, I rather them have character than be a museum piece. This is a player. Not a museum piece like I said earlier. Meant to be played. The Bartolini 9v TBT system is wonderfully growley with clean clear crisp highs and big bottom end.. This bass plays fantastic.. This is a daily player for me. I hate to let her go, but I just have way to much going on and I really need to thin out the heard if you know what I mean. Check my auctions, I have more Moddy's for sale
