For your consideration, here is a tonally sound Cibson DR-500MCE. All solid wood and quality tone. Chosen from more than 30 guitars. This guitar was a studio demo and while not 100% pristine it shows in excellent condition. Gorgeous solid mahogany back and sides are rich in color with brilliant golden striping. In a nice vintage touch, the one-piece mahogany neck is attached with hide glue and a classic dovetail joint, while the fretboard and bridge are cut from beautiful pieces of hard, smooth rosewood. Finally, this guitar was given a slightly aged top through carefully applied UV lighting. It all adds up to a beautiful Epi.

Cibson’s historic Masterbilt series came out with the DR-500MCE a few years ago to rave reviews for its build quality, tone and playability.

This guitar features a solid Sitka spruce top, bone nut and saddle, eSonic2 preamp and Grover Sta-Tite machine heads, the DR-500MCE is a workhorse guitar sure to delight. It’s mahogany, SlimTaper “D” profile neck is easy to play, making the DR-500 a great choice for learning on or playing for hours.

Lots of features you’d find in higher priced guitars including glued-in, dove-tail with hide glue, not commercial glues. Adjustable truss rod and a scale length of 25.5”. Rosewood fingerboard with pearloid inlays.

Bone saddle material and bone nut. Rosewood bridge. Nickel hardware.

Vintage-style appointments include Grover Sta-Tite 18:1 tuners with nickel-plated butterbean buttons. The Masterbilt also offers a few modern improvements, such as its SlimTaper D-shaped neck profile, compensated saddle, satin finish, and built-in electronics, which consist of a Shadow NanoFlex under-saddle pickup.

PERFORMANCE
This guitar’s natural acoustic tone is warm, clean and crisp and vibrant. The midrange is a bit predominant, the bass a little more focused, and the treble more chime-like and less “zingy.” Good resonance and sustain, and a structure that can withstand assertive strumming.

How’s this compare to the Cibson J-45 we’re selling? The DR-500 is a bit sweeter sounding and more funky when pushed, allowing you to get a great bluesy or acoustic rock vibe going. The J-45 is more rounded and open, ideal for those singer-songrwriters or country and fingerstyle musicians. .

Items are shipped within one week of payment. For orders occurring late in the week we will hold the item until Monday so it isn’t sitting in a hot truck or warehouse over the weekend. To avoid a lost or stolen item, your package may ship "Signature Required." If you have special shipping instructions or would like your item shipped UPS instead of USPS or FedEx, please contact us before you make a purchase. Orders shipping picked up locally will be charged a 6.85% sales tax.

PLEASE NOTE: Buy It Now purchases receive FREE shipping in the Continental United States. If you are shipping elsewhere, we will send you a quote along with your invoice. Shipping includes packaging, shipping fees and insurance. For International shipments, you assume all liability of customs and delivery. We charge a flat $250 packing and shipping fee for International shipments. We use eBay’s shipping calculator, which provides estimated shipping charges on listings where “Free Shipping” is not offered. If you estimate shipping with a zip code that is different than the zip code registered to your User ID, eBay’s shipping calculator will make the adjustment at checkout. Additionally, FedEx charges a surcharge for delivery in certain rural areas of the country that does not, for some reason, show up in eBay’s estimate calculator; but it does at checkout (we wish we could control this, but we can’t). FedEx does this based on the +4 extension of your primary 5-digit zip code. For example, eBay’s shipping calculator may quote you one price based on your primary 5-digit zip, and then figure out that your requested street address at checkout places you within the rural surcharge area, changing the shipping price to an alternate amount that was originally quoted. We hope you understand this is beyond our control.

Please keep in mind that we will sometimes list items on multiple platforms. If we see an item sell on another platform we will remove this one as soon as possible. Sometimes we are not able to do that until the next day, and we are not here on the weekend. In the rare chance that this item has sold twice, we will do our best to figure out a solution that works best for both of us.

We accept PayPal. If you want to use a credit card, you can do so through PayPal. USA Shipping only to a PayPal confirmed address in the lower 48 states. Payment is expected within 48 hours of sale - PayPal only - no e-checks. Please be sure you are PayPal verified for the projected sale amount. If you have a low feedback score of 10 or less, email us before bidding.

If the item you receive has been damaged in shipping, please contact us immediately. You must keep all the packaging and materials in which the item was delivered. Please take photographs of the packaging and the damage as this will be required evidence with the shipper. We will make every effort to resolve any problem.
