With supercharged active pickups anchored to menacing slabs of tone-sustaining ‘hogany (the site doesn’t permit us to say the full name of this and several other woods…so, let’s get that out of the way), the Peavey PXD Tragic II Guitar is the sound of full-on aggression and the perfect complement to the Peavey 6505 Series guitar amplifiers, already a metal legend in the arsenals of bands like Trivium, In Flames, Bullet For My Valentine, Machine Head, Darkest Hour and more. True to the music that inspired them, the PXD Series electric guitars are built for speed, slicing leads and razor-sharp riffs.

The Peavey PXD Tragic II features high output EMG active pickups and the EMG-AB Afterburner tone circuit, which boosts input gain up to 20 dB--for the highest levels of saturation anywhere.

Captures the aggression and attitude of modern metal players with hot pickups and killer looks.

PXD`s tragic II is one of two models with Tragic name in this series. These models are based on vintage Explorer and Firebird designs. They are best described as double-cut Explorers with flat-top bodies and 24-3/4" scales. Tragic II comes with a solid, double-cut body made of basswood. It is paired with a maple neck (this is the most popular combination of tonewoods in the lower section s of the market, usually the RW fingerboard completes the tonewood list).Series standard Satin Black color scheme with black hardware is present on this model, as well. Simple tune-o-matic bridge is fronted by a pair of EMG humbuckers. Maple neck is equipped with a series standard back contour and a 24-fret RW fingerboard on top. 

Condition

Top-grade here, you won’t find a nicer one now that these black ones are getting tricky to track down.  See pics to view the actual axe you will recieve, we have only this one and it’s a keeper.

The plastic film is still adhered to the tuning pegs.  Really the only fault is the case, which shows some storage wear to the outside only.  The guitar itself is nearly pristine, and could pass for new, but we prefer not to play that angle.  It is a secondhand guitar, it just looks like it’s been played perhaps 2-4 hours in total.  Really a fantastic find for this rarity that isn’t getting any easier to locate in this highly attractive matte.

A little bit of ‘shininess’ on the neck can be spotted, and an occaional ‘shiny’ spot on the guitar, but we are really picking nits here; wheras you should be picking strings.  These strings.  

As a matter of protocol, we recommend oiling up the neck as the wood looks a tad dry from several years in storage.  The original 9v is still in the back cavity.  There’s nothing else to mention, this one’s good to go!
