Raimundo 1495 Small Spanish Handmade Classical Guitar

Looking for a completely hand-built guitar built with old world craftsmanship and dedication to quality?

All Raimundo Guitars are 100% made in Spain using the TRADITIONAL SPANISH SYSTEM that guarantees the highest standards of sound and finishing.

Raimundo has been building guitars by hand since 1968 using only traditional woods and techniques and have grown into Spain’s second-largest builder of classical guitars, winning numerous awards for their quality and craftsmanship.

Each Raimundo guitar is crafted using a centuries–old system characteristic of Spain. With this method, part of the guitar neck remains inside the body when the guitar is built, creating the “Spanish heel” This system provides better sound, and better stability and durability to the instrument. All Raimundo guitars are 100% handmade in Spain, following a tradition of excellence developed over hundreds of years.

Spruce or Cedar?

The two most common woods used for acoustic guitar tops are spruce and cedar. There is no difference in quality between the two woods so the choice is one of preference. Spruce tends to sound brighter and clearer and has what could be classed as a Germanic sound. Cedar is warmer and more direct and has a more Spanish sound. Both types of wood will improve over time but a cedar will sound closer to its mature sound at the beginning while the spruce will sound more raw and have a more dramatic improvement over time.
