SAKAZO NAKADE - 1975 Spruce/Brazilian classical guitar w/sound sample

1975 Sakazo Nakade No.2000 guitar  - very high grade model with perfect Brazilian Rosewood back and sides and the same 9-fan bracing as used by Ignacio Fleta.
The Brazilian Rosewood is of the old world quality, straight grain (can tell because he pitting is straight), with very beautiful inky figuring. the wood is dark old growth. Classic headstock shape used by Torres and then Hauser.
This is a beautiful guitar for traditional Spanish guitar lovers who love guitars with tone colour range and apprectiate very highly level of woods and craftsmanship. this is a guitar that rewards a solid guitar player that can extract the beautiful tone colours of the guitar, and it will not play for you.
Sakazo Nakade is considered the father of Japanese guitar building. He built to pure spanish guitar building tradition with fan bracing having studied the art of luthiery in Spain, and the name Nakade lived on with his sons also building.
For those in the know, Nakade guitars are up there and often better then the more famously known in western countries "Kohno" Japanese guitars, also Nakade stuck to traditional building while Kohno went to his own bracing from 1970 onwards..

The sound of this guitar is very pure, very even notes with no silly overtones.  lots of warmth with heaps of tone colour range between dolce and ponticello. deep strong base, lyrical trebles. Great volume and projection.

Bracing: 9 fan (identical to Fleta guitars) - 4 braces on back.


Tuners: Der Jung 18:1 ratio (not original but work beautiful) 35mm roller spacing.


action is a very comfortable ~4.5mm at 12th fret for 6th string and ~3.5mm for 12th fret at first string. room to lower on saddle if needed.

The condition is excellent. no cracks. the guitar has previously been completely re-finished. in the 1970s Japanase makers started to use very stiff/hard synthetic finishes to combat the changing humidity weather in Japan which caused traditionally finished guitars to often crack, but those finishes had a detrimental affect to the sound.  the finish is now Tru-oil for the whole guitar - Tru-oil is about the same as Shellac in terms of what it does for the sound of a guitar - ie it is very thin and doesn't constrain the guitars vibrations, it also looks very beautify, and doesn't have the glary gloss look of French polish. tru-oil gives a beautiful ivory sheen to spruce timber, and it is applied by hand in many stages. re-finishing the guitar has opened up the voice of the instrument termendously.the guitar looks like a new fan braced guitar still,with no bellowing around the bridge. Amazing workmanship and detailing in purfling and over-sized rosette.

Guitar comes in a  Karura carbon-fiber flight case that cost $1200us in about 2007. still in good condition.
