Tanglewood TW 23 Sundance Late 2000

For sale my beloved acoustic guitar. 

This instrument has been with me since new from late 2000, early 2001..

I am reluctant to let it go as I do love this guitar look, feel and sound but need's a must, 

Made by Tanglewood as one of their higher end instruments at the time this TW23 Sundance dreadnought is blatantly based on a CF Martin design with some really nice touches on the finish and for a fraction of the price.

Solid spruce top, rosewood back and sides, mahogany neck and rosewood fingerboard. Classical round sound hole with turquoise colour circular inlay, contour adapted pick guard. 

The top is also framed using a strip of maple which is dyed using the same turquoise finish in sections giving this guitar a very specific look that to me it is very reminiscent of native american art. 

Maple binding on the neck, and again turquoise coloured dot neck markers and a two eagle design on the twelve great as well as on the rosewood bridge and string pegs. 

The back also sports a maple strip with a similar turquoise theme that is simply stunning and beautifully crafted. 

The headstock logo is made of what looks like abalone and the front is finished with a thick layer of varnish.

Gold oil tuners with luxury buttons to complement the finish of this instrument. 

The overall finish is a colourless matt polyester varnish, giving this guitar a warm feel and look. 

The inside work is absolutely faultless, clean and every bit is perfectly matched. Not a single drop of glue out of space in sight with a very laborious bracing job to create good amplification and balanced acoustic tone. 

The guitar is surprisingly light considering the rigid construction which is in my book a big bonus both from an acoustic point of view and a performance one. 

The neck profile is amazing and shrinks perfectly as it gets closer to the headstock. It simply fits in your hand seamlessly and allows for both standard playing and thumb over without any sharp edge discomfort.

The action is set quite low making this easy to play but still not buzzing. 

The frets used are quite narrow, well glued and perfectly hammered.

The guitar has a brilliant sound which is very good and well balanced with individual string definition. 

The bass response is less than many others i have tried due to the body size and in all effects although very subjectve it strives for total tonal balance across the whole fingerboard and it is very good for recordings.  

One word that this guitar was described as in reviews was "quality",  especially for the price bracket.  was not a cheap guitar with the price tag of almost £600 16 years ago but nor was an acoustic that cost thousands. 

If you are looking for a very good quality instrument for reasonable money that feels and looks great (if you dig the look like i do) this is one of them. 

In great condition considering its age. Only a small ding on the edge of the top almost over the binding and a couple of small scratches on the top that i believe that easily be touched up bit if you wished so.  See the photo of these.
