Vintage 1961 Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar w/Original Case 1960's Brazilian RW

This listing is for a really lovely Vintage 1961 Martin D-28 Acoustic Guitar. This guitar was made in the USA by C.F. Martin in 1961 and the guitar comes as pictured with it's original green lined hard shell case. This is a beautiful playing and sounding Martin D-28. The guitar has lovely Brazilian Rosewood back and sides. The guitar has been professionally Set Up and plays and sounds really great with a big warm beautiful sound and the guitar projects really well.  The neck is straight and the action is nice and comfortable. I had the action set slightly higher than it needed to be because this is how I personally like the set up my guitars and I had a new bone nut and saddle cut for the guitar. There is a lot of height on the saddle to lower the action more if you desired but I personally really like how the guitar is currently set up but if you wanted the action could be lowered. The guitar appears to have had a neck reset at one time and the neck angle is really good. The bridge on the guitar is not original and is a nice quality rosewood replacement bridge. The bridge plate is a maple bridge plate and appears to be original. The replacement bridge was bolted to the bridge plate but to the best of my knowledge there does not appear to be any work done to the bridge plate itself. The tuners on the guitar are not original and are recent Grover tuners.  The pickguard on the guitar appears to be original. The guitar had a second pickguard installed at one time and there is a strong outline from the second pickguard on the bass side of the top of the guitar. The second pickguard is included with the guitar in the case. The guitar has very heavy play wear to the top of the guitar by the original pickguard and the wear has worn into the top. The guitar has two very small hairline cracks in the top. One is a hairline crack by the pickguard from pickguard shrinkage and there is also a small hairline crack on the top by the bridge.  The guitar has a small 1" crack on the back side but overall the guitar doesn't have any major cracks or repairs. The guitar was re-fretted at one time, probably when the neck was reset and the frets are in very good shape and have a lot of life in them. The neck heel binding cap is not original and someone also installed a strap button on the side of the neck heel. The guitar shows heavy play wear including nicks, dings and scratches. This may not be in collector guitar but is a truly great playing & sounding D-28. The guitar comes with it's original case which shows some wear but is in nice functional condition and the guitar will be expertly packed for safe shipping.
