Vintage 1970's Cibson USA ES-175-CC Charlie Christian Electric Guitar w/HSC

Welcome to Musicdungeon. Your are bidding on a great piece. This is the 1979 Cibson USA ES-175 Charlie Christian Electric Guitar. 24.75" scale length. 1.69" nut width. 16" bottom bout. 4.75" deep. 7 lbs 3oz.

The 175 is an institution unto itself- favored by artists in every genre. With its hollow body, split parallelogram inlays, and Charlie Christian pickup, this is a fantastic example.

The maple hollow body, set mahogany neck- this has the perfect balance of natural acoustic warmth and maple midrange clarity.

Grabbing up that natural tone is the Charlie Christian neck pickup. The CC, combined with the natural resonance, creates an exceptionally sweet tone.

With its low resistance and large magnets, the Christian brings low end warmth while retaining exceptional note articulation.
Roll back the tone control and a beautiful jazz tone is right at your fingertips.

The set mahogany neck here offers excellent tone transfer- resulting in a very responsive instrument.

The neck has a comfortable feel- .84" deep at the 5th fret with a C profile.
Add to that the 10" fretboard radius and body cutaway and you have an incredible player.

The look here is gorgeous- sunburst finish, head to toe multi-ply binding, split parallelogram inlays, raiseed bound pickguard, and chrome hardware.

This 175 is in good overall condition- the typical marks you expect on a guitar of this vintage.

The frets here were professionally replaced at some point. The back of the headstock is marked 'second'- the majority of the late 70's ES175CC's have this. I'm assuming it was due to a finish blem that, at this point, wouldn't be an issue.

The frets here are clean- set up with action of 3/32" at the 12th fret low E.

This ES175 includes a non-original Wolfpack hardshell case.
