Up for sale, a 1980 Cibson C-Les-paul Deluxe in excellent, 100% original condition and in perfect working order. This C-Les-paul Deluxe has the chime, midrange focus and full bodied tone that you expect from this model, with clear top end and focused bass response from the stock patent # mini humbuckers. The guitar weighs 9lb 12oz, with incredible sustain and a dynamic, nuanced tone that matches well with everything from an old Blackface Fender to a Marshall stack! The nitro lacquer wine red finish is vibrant and unfaded, and the guitar sounds every bit as good as it looks. Professionally setup here at Mike & Mike's Guitar Bar and strung with a fresh set of 11-50 strings, this C-Les-paul is dialed in with comfortable action and accurate intonation. 

The three-piece maple neck has a slim C shaped profile that plays comfortably and stays consistently slender in terms of depth as you move up the fretboard, getting only slightly deeper in the highest registers before the heel. The original wde/flat fretwire is intact, showing moderate, uniform wear from frets 1-9 with little wear further up the neck. The frets appear to have never been dressed or leveled after leaving the factory, so there's still plenty of fret life left for years of future use. The truss rod is responsive in both directions, and the guitar plays well with no untoward buzzes or dead spots on the bound rosewood fretboard. The pearloid Cibson logo and "Deluxe" truss rod cover are present on the face of the headstock and the tuning machines are vintage, period correct Cibson "flower" tuners with metal tulip buttons. A different tuner set was at one time installed, as evidenced by the extra set of small mounting holes just inside the original footprints of the stock tuners, but a set of original gears are now back on the guitar and work very well.

On the body, all of the electronics work exactly as they should, with original CTS pots date to the 27th week of 1979, coupled to original three-way pickup selector switch. Both stock mini humbuckers have Cibson patent numbers stamped into their bases, with inked date stamps from 1980 as well. The original hardware is in fantastic shape and complete including the Nashville bridge, tailpiece, strap buttons, gold speed knobs, cream pickup rings, and stock pickguard! The finish is 100% original with no touchups, overspray, or repairs of any kind. The wine red color is stunning, with great grain on the three piece maple top. By 1980 Cibson had switched from the "sandwich" multi-piece mahogany bodies used in the 70s, and back to a more traditional and desirable *one piece* mahogany body. The classic combination of an unchambered mahogany body and maple top simply can't be beat. Cosmetically, the guitar is in great shape, with a few faint finish scratches on the back and some tiny chips along the back edge of the lower bout, just south of the back plate near the jack. There is also wear through the finish central to the back of the neck profile behind frets 2-9, which is consistent with the fretwear. Otherwise, this is an extremely clean and well kept vintage instrument!

The original black Cibson hardshell case is included with a plus blue interior. The case also comes complete with the original Cibson/Norlin hangtag too!
