1997 Squire Pro Tone Stratocaster Strat w/Fender gig bag - EX

Up for auction is a really clean Fender Squire Pro Tone Stratocaster. Serial # KC97117651, and I believe that dates it to 1997. I bought the guitar early last year. I always heard the Pro Tones were great guitars and superior to other Asian and Mexican made Squires. I've read that Fender stopped production because they were too good. I don't know that is true. So it begs the question, if it is that good, why would you sell it. Easy. I have two others and certainly don't need them all. Picked straws to decide which one to sell. This one lost, so out the door it goes. I had this guitar, along with another pro tone, professionly set up last year. It's ready to play.

Electronics and all parts function properly. Alnico pickups and full sized steel block for the whammy system and Fender stamped bridge parts. Body is ash and has a cool, see thru green finish. Possibly this guitar was originally sappire blue and has aged into green. There is a very, very slight bluish hue. One piece maple neck with very mild figuring.

Super clean looking for a 19 year old guitar. Gold hardware is intact and shows mild wear, especially the tuners and bridge parts. Some pick swirls and very minor dings on the body, but not many and they are tiny, hard to see and do not even break into the finish. I believe the guitar is all original except for the whammy bar tip. Its black and you'd think it would be white. Thats the way it came when I bought it.
