 What makes this guitar special: A true time machine in a multitude of facets, this stunning Custom Shop 00, only one of seven total produced, boasts a history as rich as its sound. About six years ago, Martin acquired the cuts of Sinker Mahogany used for this guitar, which came from logs that were estimated to be submerged underwater in the heart of Belize for over 60 years. The origins of the trees themselves were estimated to be between 300-400 years old as well, a past that extends far beyond even Martin’s guitar producing. Using these cuts for the top, back, and sides in a 00-14 fret body produces a wonderfully warm and rich midrange that branches down into a light and compressed low end and a sweet top end that has excellent chime. Its simple appointments give it an understated look and perfectly match the overall warmth of its tone. Plus, it comes with its original hardshell case, a full build sheet, and a professional setup.

Condition: This guitar is in excellent condition overall. It shows only a minor ding here or there and a few light surface scratches throughout, but is still in fantastic shape for a used guitar. The frets show almost no wear whatsoever and still have a full lifetime of playing left in them. The neck is straight and the truss rod functions perfectly. The K&K pickup was professionally installed post-production.

Body: 00 body with Sinker Mahogany top, back, and sides in non-catalyzed gloss Dark Mahogany Stain finish. Mahogany blocks and dovetail neck joint. Scalloped ¼” solid Sitka spruce bracing. Madagascar rosewood binding and herringbone purfling on the top. Old Style 18 Black and Maple Fiber rosette. Solid black Ebony with 16” radius bone long saddle. Black plastic bridge pins with white dots.
  
Neck: Modified V genuine mahogany neck and solid black ebony fingerboard with abalone dot inlays. Gotoh vintage-style open-gear tuning machines with butterbean buttons. 1 ¾” nut width. 24.9” scale length. .86” deep at the 1st fret and 1.12” deep at the 12th.

Electronics: K&K Pure Mini Passive.

Playability/Sound: The modified V neck plays great at length and is a perfect shape for a wider 1 ¾” nut width. In terms of tone, this is a straight up beautiful sounding guitar. Its smaller body compresses the low end without losing it, while the midrange is rich and punchy, while the top end is sweet yet perfectly articulate.
