Vintage 1966 or 1967 Eko Violin Bass - It is in Excellent Condition - Made in Italy - Includes the original 'chip board' hard case! Like the German Hofner, these were used by many famous artists and bands in the sixties like The Grass Roots and others. It's a really cool piece of vintage gear, that is still in GREAT shape, and ready to rock!

All of the original hardware is on it: Tuners, Pick Ups, Pick Up Selector Switch and Knob, Volume & Tone Pots and Knobs Bridge, Tailpiece, (Including the Tailpiece Cover too!), and unlike many that I've seen the output jack is in great shape with no cracking in the body. Body is in fantastic shape for this era of Eko and the wood grain is beautiful. Binding is good, frets are good, truss rod works, solid neck & joint, stays in tune, it has had the nut repaired at some point in time, (zero fret so no issues), there is a beautiful wood grain on the fret board too, and best of all...it plays and sounds great. A recent string replacement was done and it has LaBella 'Beatle Bass' Black Tapewounds installed. The only mod to the guitar was the installation of Schaller Strap Lock Buttons. (Originals included) The case is in good condition, all hinges, latches, and handle are present and work fine.


Now to the important part of vintage guitars and in particular, Eko models (and those manufactured by Eko like Vox): This is one of the nicest looking Eko basses I've seen! Just look at the condition of the finish! There is very, very little to none of the clear coat cracking that you normally see on these vintage Ekos, (In fact I can only see two small lines, and they run parallel with the grain, in the clear only, so they are not noticeable and hard to photograph). There is NO flaking anywhere. Fortunately this bass got a thinner coat of the clear resulting in a great looking and lasting appearance.
