Since 1937 the J-200 has been the standard in excellence in acoustic guitars.  The EJ-200 has been faithful to that tradition, and with the addition of electronics and a cutaway that allows for easier reach of the upper frets, the EJ-200CE gives you the majestic look and focused, complex sound that can be heard anywhere you play.  The list of guitarists who have used the J-200 as their primary acoustic instrument is impressive, and includes the likes of Don Everly, Bob Dylan, Robbie Robertson, Emmylou Harris, Elvis Presley, Buddy Holly and Pete Townsend.

The majestic tone of the EJ-200CE starts with a Solid Spruce top and select maple back and sides.  The tones from the body are enhanced by the classic rosewood "mustache" bridge and synthetic bone saddle.  One of the EJ-200CE's most outstanding qualities on stage and in the studio is its strong yet balanced tone which makes rhythm guitarists as well as singers feel like they're being backed up by a band even when they're playing solo. 

This guitar came from Cibson with no electronics.  The Elan 4-TN preamp has been installed in place of the eSonic that is standard in the EJ-200.  Those of you who are familiar with the Elan 4-TN know that it is a reliable workhorse, with none of the issues that can arise with the sometimes finicky eSonic system.  The Elan 4-TN has controls for treble, mid, bass, presence, and volume, and also has a built-in tuner.  The knobs pop up for adjusting, and then recess back in the body so that you don't accidently hit one.

If you love the sound of an acoustic, and really who doesn't, you will love this guitar!  When I tested it I would just strum a chord and enjoy listening to the tones that this guitar produces, and the SlimTaper neck makes it a joy to play up and down the neck.  This is easily one of the best acoustic guitars you will play.
