1) Pickup Selector Switch Tip.

The pickup selector switch tip is New Old Stock from the UK, vintage in age and extremely hard to get at any pric

The knob isn't coated in 22k gold (as the originals were purported to be), but is the same specs as the Fender original "STRAT Brassmaster" *(last pic) pickup selector switch tip from 1980-83. The knob attaches firmly to the selector switch shaft by tightening a hex screw. (I’ll Hex key will come with it). 

The original Fender issue of these selector tips was often missing from the original guitars they were supposed to be part of, so whether you own one of these STRAT guitars that's missing the part, prefer gold hardware, or you are fitting out a custom Stratocaster with brass hardware then this might be for you.

2) Tremolo Arm Knob

This beautiful knob is hand made, not in the shape of the uglier STRAT Brassmaster version, but rather modelled off the very first pre CBS plastic tremolo tips that Fender released on the 50's models. This is by far the nicest shaped tremolo knob design that Fender ever made. It will screw straight on to a UNF 10-32 thread, (the standard on all USA made Stratocasters) on any arm that's approx: 5mm in diameter.
Although this is not a vintage item, it is vintage Fender styling at its best.

These have been custom made in batches of five to compliment the NOS Pickup Selector Tip. How long my metalwork guy will continue to make these is anyone's guess. Get one now because he really hates making them, and could stop at any time!

These brass knobs are hand finished - some pieces may have minor irregularities

A Brief History of the 1980-83 Fender "STRAT".

The "STRAT", a customised and souped-up variation of the Stratocaster, was introduced by Fender at the 1980 NAMM Show. Designed by Gregg Wilson, then chief of guitar R&D at Fender, with the help of Dan Armstrong serving as a consultant, the STRAT tried to blend classic features with modern electronics to rejuvenate the Stratocaster concept. The guitar had 22 carat gold electroplated brass hardware including a re-designed extra massive (sustain) bridge and vibrato block, tuners, and volume/tone knobs that were officially dubbed the "Brassmaster Series". According to Fender, the hardware was actually plated with a 100 micron gold coat (the same as fine jewellery) and for that reason it's rumoured that the company lost money on every unit sold. Some very early models are missing the gold tuners (same tuners but in chrome) and the gold plated pickup selector tip because of a delay in parts delivery.
