This essentially N.O.S. (new old stock) Japan-market '62 reissue alder Fender Japan Fretless Jazz Bass JB62-85FL from 2006-2008 (CIJ serial number S083115) has an alder body, reverse tuners, and US Fender Vintage Jazz Bass pickups in addition to its marked but unfretted rosewood-board maple neck.  The body has no screw holes for a pick guard but a brand-new tortoise-shell pick guard still with its protective film was included by the factory should its new owner choose to install it.  



















This 9 lb (4.1 kg) fretless Jazz Bass is in impeccable, as-new condition, not a mark on it.  Its nut width is a hair over 1-1/2 inches.

Befitting its pristine condition, it comes with a plush and protective Ritter gig bag (see photo) in the pouch of which will be found the factory pick guard still covered with film and a packet of original tags and paperwork.

There are no returns on auction guitars but as you can see from the eBay feedback that hasn't been a problem.  In an auction when competing against other willing buyers you're bidding to buy the guitar, not for right of first refusal to buy it.  Some of the guys selling guitars from Japan make a big deal about being willing to accept returns, knowing full well that in the real world nobody's likely to accept a roundtrip shipping loss of several hundred dollars to take them up on it.

All photos are of the actual guitar being offered.  While considerable effort is made to accurately show the guitar's color, the limitations of color photography and computer or device color display can sometimes create slight discrepancies.

Buyers should know what they're getting.  Our descriptions comprise both words and photos and we urge you to carefully consider both before bidding.  While guitars with technical problems are never knowingly shipped out, these are by and large used guitars and their cosmetic condition sometimes reflects that use.  Not every little blip can or will be photographed, only those we consider to be significant.

No one set-up is right for everybody but all guitars leave here intonated properly and set up to our preferences, which may or may not be your own.  But all the adjustables are perfectly functional so the set up can be tweaked after delivery however the guitar's new owner prefers.
