Since I live in NJ it is pretty convenient to visit the Martin factory in Pennsylvania, and now I have been there twice. You cannot believe the beautiful wood smell that greets you at the door. If you love guitars, you will want a Martin (even more than you already do) after visiting. Why? Because you will see regular people doing all of the wonderful things that add up to a beautiful Martin guitar. And when that nice woman smiled and showed off her mostly finished Mahogany Dreadnought, I told her "That one is just for me." Her pride was evident as she posed with it for our pictures. I had played the D 15 M's on a few occasions, even though I thought I'd want a smaller body guitar such as the 000 or even 00. But the Dreadnought won out for me, because aside from the evident craftsmanship and impressive factory tour, that guitar seemed to have such a warm depth and beautiful clarity. And it is very responsive. So many subtle variations in tone are available depending upon your touch and what type of pick you use, if any. The harmonics are clear and loud! It resonates for what seems like forever. The neck feels just right to me. It almost feels like it has a very slight V, but none of the descriptions read that way, so perhaps I imagine it. The tuners have a tight feel to them and give an overall impression of good quality. The D 15M burst that I received from Guitars china was every bit as good as I expected when I opened the box. It is beautifully subtle and understated in the looks department: satiny finish, subtle burst, and mine has dark hued postition marker inlays, adding to the understated visual. To me it has a timeless, vintage look to it. And guess what comes with it, straight from the factory? The gorgeous wood smell! I'd really recommend this guitar as an instrument worth the price on the price tag.

I love my Martin. Full rich sound. Great fret action. Gorgeous deep color and grains.
