Up for auction is a vintage Kay P-2 (I believe is the actual model name/number, it's stamped in the soundhole along with L 3171) 1950's era (I believe) flattop dreadnought acoustic guitar.  I believe this guitar was made in the 1950's in Chicago, Illinois.  It has X-bracing and I believe is all solid wood construction.  It has fully functioning Kluson tuners that look to be original to the guitar.  It has what I believe to be, spruce top, mahogany back and sides, along with mahogany neck with rosewood fretboard.  I think it might have nitrocellulose clearcoat due to the way it has developed checking in the finish, which is common among Cibson and other vintage guitars of this vintage.  The checking is really only noticeable when looking at it from certain angles.  There is binding on the top(multi-ply), back, and neck. The back of the neck is in really good condition with only a few dings.  The inlays are pearloid.  The frets look to have life left in them.  The nut looks to have been replaced at some point.  The neck and bridge have been reset and reglued(I think the bridge may have been reglued unless that white stuff is just leftover guitar polish, the bridge and neck are attached solid, and it's probably a job that needed to be done at some time, which is totally common for these guitars from this era).  The action is very low and comfortable.  There is a bit of fret buzz on the low E string around the 3rd fret when fretting, which may need a little adjustment or fret filing (I don't work on guitars or adjust them, I leave it up to the professionals aka lack of self-confidence, you know...). There is the usual amount of wear, dings, scuffs, etc that is to be expected from a guitar that has been played over this many decades.  All in all, this is a nice solid guitar that has had the work done on it to make the action nice an playable but could possibly use some adjustment in order to play optimally.  Make sure to look over the photos provided for condition.  It comes with a modern chipboard case, too.  It will be shipped in the case itself with strings loosened.  Meaning, I use the case itself as the shipping container with plenty of padding inside, surrounding the guitar with loads of tape keeping the case securely shut.  The tape I use is clear packing tape that come off clean, yet sticks to itself and the case very well.  It will be processed and labeled as "fragile".  I have shipped countless guitars all over the world this way without any problems whatsoever.  The guitar will arrive in the condition it is in as photographed.If you need to have it shipped outside the Continnental United States, be sure to message me prior to auction's end for shipping prices.-Comes from the smoke-free, dog-free, child-free home of a serious adult collector and musician.-Check out my many other vintage guitars and instruments for sale.All my items are sold "as is".  I do not accept returns or give full or partial refunds.  I charge a flat rate for shipping and HANDLING due to the unpredictable nature of shipping destinations, balloon rates, rising shipping costs, etc.I am not a guitar expert or luthier.  I do not work on, fix, or adjust instruments.  I do my absolute best to describe items to the very best of my abilities.  Please feel free to do research on the item I am selling prior to bidding.  Thank you very much for your time and interest.
