For sale here are 8 Pernambuco (Caesalpinia echinata) Fingerboard blanks.Pernambuco is the rare heartwood of the Brazilwood tree, "Pau Brasil". This tree gave name to the nation of Brazil, and is the most desirable wood for use in instrument bows due to the high velocity of sound through the material. 
The difference in color between the blanks is simply a result of natural UV exposure. Photo number 3 shows the effect of less than 12 hours of indirect exposure to sunlight. Photo number two shows only the more seasoned surfaces of these blanks.
