Relic Telecaster hardware


  Now, this is something I kind of fell into by accident...

...I had an order from a life-long Cibson owner for a relic Telecaster control plate using dual-concentric pot's, and as you can't just go out and buy those knobs in a relic finish off the shelf I had to get on with it and make my own:

Following some 'not inconsiderable' experimentation I had a suitably aged pair of knobs for that particular order; plus most of a heavy-relic hardware set for a Telecaster (or Telecaster-style ) build...

...as illustrated on the stunning heavy-relic Tele' pictured above
(a bona fide gigging guitar built by a good Customer of mine), and the Top R/H photo' of another Customers' recently completed build, featuring a full relic hardware set by yours truly;
  The bridge is a genuine Fender Vintage-style ash-tray plate; fitted with brass compensated saddles as in the main listing photo' (Left-handed bridge & saddles can be ordered if you email me first). I currently also have a handfull of chrome barrel saddles remaining if they are more your thing. I could also order vintage-style 'threaded' brass saddles if required. The refinished bridge will be shipped in the original Fender packaging

I have now exhausted my supply of 'Free' control plates: I will shortly be amending this listing to include several more relic hardware options, but in the meantime, if you require something for your project please messge me for a quote ...

NB: I can always vary the relic finish to your taste, from a mild 'tarnish' effect, to 'OMG WTF is that!'  totally rusty. The choice, as they say, is yours...

Very Limited One Time Offer!

As of November 2015 I've added 3 photo's of a couple of truly unique control plates I have here on the bench: there will only ever BE two of these, mainly because I doubt I'd be able to reproduce the finish  of this pair, even if I wanted to!

I will freely admit that this finish was purely accidental: they were both the result of a 'failed' relic process...

...having virtually discarded them, after a couple of days I noticed they were changing appearance to the amazing colours I've tried to capture in the photo's above.

They are both a semi-glossy, predominantly brown colour that could best be described as a cross between 'Burnt Umber' and 'Oil-on-Water...' The lighter of the two I have kitted out with very slightly aged gold hardware, the other, darker plate, has Black Nickel hardware (also now referred to as 'Cosmo'). They would both look stunning on a natural Walnut or Ash body!

I haven't wired either of these control plates yet as I am under no illusion they are going to appeal to every/anybody! There will be, however, someone out there who will be looking for something just like these to finish off a unique build of their own. To that extent, you may not want/like solderless setups, or you might prefer cloth-covered pushback wire? Either way, if one of these is what you've been searching for, drop me an email and we can discuss specific requirements.

These two will be slightly more expensive than my regular control plates to reflect their unique individuality and the custom nature of the build, but I am going to peg that price at just £66.60  each!

I kind of wish I had something lined up I could fit these to myself, but I haven't so my loss will ultimately be someone elses gain...
