Relic'd Fender Stratocaster

This build is made mostly from Made In Mexico parts, among other upgraded components. Bellow is an itemized list of all the work done to the guitar and the details of the parts. 

Set Up-

Right away the frets were leveled and crowned with a compound radius. The action is very low (near 1 mil) and still has very little to no buzz on the frets. The set up on this came our really amazing on this particular guitar. 

Neck- 

The maple neck was from a 2000-2001 MIM Standard strat, the frets are in very good condition and have been leveled, crowned with a compound radius. The truss rod works, the neck is straight and is virtually flawless in every way. 

Body- 

The Body was from a 1996 MIM strat, the original color was maroon and the strip job didn't go perfectly but it ended up suiting the relic finish any way. If you are looking for a mint condition perfect body on a guitar, this one is not for you. The relic finish was done with a Nitro Antique White color then sat next to a window which bleached it to a brighter white. The medium relic job gives it an aged and played look that adds character, and doesn't take away from the overall appearance of the guitar. 

Hardware- 

There is a GFS full size brass block added to the tremolo with shallow settings for the string ends so more of the string sits in the block. This block adds a lot more sustain and clarity, and can take a tremolo arm but is currently set up all the way back like a hard tail. All other hardware is from a standard MIM strat including the Fender tuners, Fender saddles, Fender pickguard, pickguard screws, input jack plate, and strap buttons. 

Electronics- 

The pickups are all Fender USA STANDARD pickups, they have all had their leads replaced with vintage style cloth wire. (There is no other type of wire in this guitar except for this!). The wiring is set up with 2 x 250 K CTS tone pots with .047 uf orange drop caps wired for independent bridge pickup tone control. The volume pot is a 250 K push pull pot for 7 way switching, coupled with a treble bleed circuit. When the volume pot is pulled (engaged) it turns on the neck pickup which give two extra positions in positions 4 and 5 of Oak Grigsby 5 way. This with independent bridge tone control is an awesome feature to have on any strat because it adds a lot more versatile and usable tones you just don't get from other wiring set ups including the S1 system.
