Sheet Music NEVADA Ann Miller Freddy Martin 1943

NEVADA. Piano sheet music with vocal line and guitar chord charts - key of C. Words and music by Walter Donaldson and mort Greene. NY: Dorsey Brothers Music, Inc., 1943. Measures 9 x 12" - 3 leaves, 6 pp.

Song from the WWII-era Columbia musical comedy, What's Buzzin' Cousin?, one of the many "show-biz" films of the times. Striking cover in vivid spring green and chocolate brown with photo insets of  Freddy martin, Ann Miller, and john Hubbard.

It featured orchestra leader Freddy Martin playing himself as bandleader who goes on vacation out West along with his band members and handyman, Rochester (Eddie "Rochester" Anderson - most famous for playing on the Jack Benny TV show). Their trailor breaks down in a ghost town where they meet four gals, one of whom has inherited a broken-down motel in the town. Though the usual chain of coincidence and mis-understandings, they believe gold has been discovered in the area, and bad characters from the area try to horn in on the situation. There is the usual love interest, straightning out of the plot, and a happy ending.

The song is a love ballad that evokes the Western setting: "Out whre the sunset is silver and gold, out where the night is a sight to behold, We met - will you ever forget? We lived a dream by a blue mountains tream in Nevada, Millions of stars were exclusively our that night, You heart was part of my heart in the heart of Nevada, Two lips divine were so willingly mine that night,", etc.

CONDITION: Very Good. Very minor wear and slight fading to the edges. The cover is bright and crisp and definitely suitable for framing.
