The natural 12-string voice is perfectly complemented by the use of Ovangkol tone wood, which offers a full mid-range presence, a bright treble and a pleasing depth to the low end. The 458e is a great all-rounder but lively strummers that love big chords should check this model out, especially if interested in experimenting with a 12-string variation.

Taylor employ Standard 'X' bracing on their new 400 series models, which suits the body shape and tonewoods to optimise tonal response and performance. An all-gloss body finish allows the brighter and lighter character of the Ovangkol back & sides to shine through, without affecting tone or projection.

A Taylor ES2 electronic pickup system sits at the heart of the 458e, a patented behind-the-saddle pickup design, which features three uniquely positioned and individually calibrated pickup sensors. The location of the sensors enables a more dynamic range of acoustic sound to be captured than ever before.
