The Minha.

The Minha is another exciting new offering in Drew's development of original line of guitars.  All inspired by the eye catching, unique styles of 60s Japanese built guitars of which this model is no exception. This guitar isn't short of quality tone-woods, Walsh has given this a Chambered Sapele back and 1/4" carved 4A flame maple top which you can see making it's presence known by it's gorgeous German Carve. As with every Walsh Guitar, it's neck wood is beautiful as ever with this one seeing a Roasted 5A flame maple and Indian Rosewood fret board cap. One noticeable thing with this guitar is it's unique pickups. These were specifically designed by Tim McNelly at of course, McNelly Pickups Canada with Drew's input, nicknamed 'Bean' pickups. You can read more about these below. This very guitar available through Home of Tone is the very first Minha built, it's a very special guitar and we had to snap it up! 

The case supplied is the Mono Sleeve in Grey. I am blown away by the quality of Mono cases, they claim they are airplane hold-proof, and I'd be very inclined to believe that. With incredible sturdy and strengthend sides, faces and supports they are some of the finest cases available today. The feature patented 'Headlock' design inside, which provides ample support to the neck and headstock which is vital to the guitars safety during transit. It's very light and has multiple carry points. A worth case to a guitar of this calibre.

The Custom McNelly/Walsh 'Bean' Pickups
So, what can you realistically expect from these very unique, custom design McNelly 'Bean' Pickups. Walsh Guitars had a very particular idea in mind when it came to the amplified voice from this Minha prototype. Walsh wanted them to be voiced to bridge the gap between Single Coil & P90/Humbucker esq tone, so something similar to what the Stagger Swagger pickups offer, but with the tone control pot being the main thing in control. So wind the pot up to '10' and you'll find beautifully chimey single coil tone waiting for you, start to roll it of and you'll stray into P90 territory. Continue to roll it off and you have the rounded tone familiarised with humbuckers, and finally right down to the bottom and you have wonderfully rich Jazz tones. They're a truly unique and versatile pickup and offer you a world of tones all from some tweaks to the tone pot. The set in this very guitar were the first McNelly 'Bean' pickups to be wound, so something special right here!

This beautiful and unique guitar is in stock and ready to ship! 

Sadly just before being shipped, It received a very small dink on the top above the bridge, it is around 3mm and due to the gold sparkle finish it is barely visible. Due to this we have reduced the price of the Minha by £50 to compensate. It certainly doesn't detract from how stunning this instrument is, it's one of the finest electric guitars I have ever put my hands on. A pleasure to have in the store!
